I thought yesterday was an incredible day. Today I was blown away. After breakfast we took the subway to Chelsea and were hurdled into the art world, gallery after gallery. Each exhibit we saw was unique and interesting in its own way. We were intrigued, excited, taken aback a few time, and awed. The work we saw included painting, drawing, sculpture, and video art in traditional, mixed, and alternative mediums. We then attended a gallery talk about a show entitled Burning Desire at the Michael Mazzeo Gallery. To hear professional artists talk about their art was engaging and informative and I am proud to say that our group was able to ask several intriguing questions after the gallery talk. We went to a late lunch/early dinner shortly after the talk, followed by an initial round at an Utrecht art store, and after a quick shopping trip are now back in our loft. I know today was just the beginning to a great month.
It looks like you'll all have a lot of fun taking in what the city has to offer. This experience will expand your minds as artists and hopefully stay with you forever. Good luck with everything - you're a fantastic group of artists!
